Northern House School is currently in the middle of an exciting building project that w
ill expand and improve facilities for our children. Scheduled for opening in the spring we are looking forward to using this new building for many years to come. Below is a gallery of pictures of the build so far.
- Prime Minister David Cameron Opens Northern House School New Teaching Facilities
This morning Northern House Schools new teaching facilities were officially opened by Prime Minister David Cameron.
Local Member of Parliament for Oxford West and Abingdon Nicola Blackwood invited Mr Cameron to open the new building at Northern House School Nicola is a Governor at the school.
The Prime Minister took a tour of the school as well as opening the new building, where he was able to see students using the facilities. He was also presented by the students of the school with a friendship band and was awarded a weekly Diamond award.
Prime Minister David Cameron said “We care deeply about what happens to our children and the schools they go to and when you have children with special extra needs, finding that place that really suits them is a magic moment and I am sure that Northern House has provided lots of magic moments for many parents and many children over many years.”
“Early intervention is absolutely vital in making sure that children get the educational help and support that they need and that is what Northern House is all about.”

This is the likely week for the official opening of the new building, more details to follow.
- We have the keys!
On Friday 2nd March at the end of the day we had a special moment. The keys to the new build were handed over – we now have ownership!
There is still some landscaping to be finished but we are nearly there.
Our next task is to fit the classrooms out with new furniture and fittings.

This morning as I walked in from the bus I was greeted with a lorry full of windows – the new building will soon be weather-tight
